This design was inspired by a sepia photo of an old lady making butter in a Lakeland farmhouse.  She was in a spotlessly scrubbed clean, whitewashed but somewhat ramshackle dairy filled with traditional wooden implements.  The only pattern was on her floral patterned pinny which stood out as being several generations newer than her surroundings but still charmingly old fashioned.
